Age Divisions
Adult Pro-Am Competitors may enter, in addition to their regular age, two age categories younger than his/her regular age. (i.e. Ladies B can dance in Ladies A3 and Ladies A2 as well as Ladies B). May not dance down to Youth.
Senior amateur couples may dance down one age category.
Pre-Teen, Junior, and Youth amateur couples may dance up one age category.
Dance Levels
A student may enter two consecutive dance standards (Bronze and Silver, Silver and Gold, Gold and Gold Star). If you are entered in Bronze you may dance Bronze and Silver levels but may not enter Gold or Gold Star levels. You may only dance Newcomer if you are attending the Constitution State Dancesport Championships for the first time.
Entries
Entries consist of completed entry form, signed waiver, accounting form (if applicable), and payment in full. Incomplete entries will not be processed. Entries received after September 15, 2018 will be accepted at the discretion of the organizers if space and time permits.
Please send all completed forms and payment in full made payable to “Constitution State Dancesport Championships”. Personal and studio checks as well as credit cards will NOT be accepted at the competition. Payment must accompany all completed forms no later than September 5, 2016. Any payments received after the deadline must be made in the form of a money order or cashier’s check. A $35 returned check fee will applied to all returned payment.
Changes or additions to entries after September 15, 2018 will be accepted at the sole discretion of the organizers.
All entries must be complete and all fees paid before competitor numbers are issued and before competitors are allowed to dance.
NDCA Rules & Registration
All persons attending the Constitution State Dancesport Championships, whether as spectators, competitors, officials, staff, guests, etc. shall be bound by the rules and regulations of the National Dance Council of American (NDCA) and, by participating in this event, automatically become obliged to adhere to them.
If you have a current NDCA registration, your competitor number will be in your package. If you are a professional dancer or an amateur couple you must have proof of your registration with the National Dance Council. If you are not on the NDCA roster and do not have a current card or a receipt showing you have registered, you will be required to register at the competition or you will not be allowed to compete. Please be aware that a late charge is added by the NDCA for those who register at the competition.
Syllabus
Material used in closed competition should be based on the current NDCA syllabus and the ISTD syallbus for international style. No continuity in Bronze American entries. Open divisions are not material restricted. Multi dance entries may be closed or open.
All closed syllabus events will be invigilated using the current NDCA list of elements and restrictions. Penalties may be given without warning for any syllabus infractions.
Scholarships
In order to qualify for Pro/Am Scholarships, you must enter and dance a minimum of 4 (Smooth) and 5 (Rhythm, Latin and Ballroom) Pro/Am Single Dances in the same style of each scholarship entered.
Scholarships and championships are unisex and have different age categories than freestyle events.
On Deck Area
Dancers are required to be in the “On Deck” area two heats prior to their scheduled heat. Any competitor not on the floor when the Master of Ceremonies calls, is subject to disqualification for that heat. Please be advised that changes may be made from the original program and all dancers should be in the ballroom at least 30 minutes prior to the time they are scheduled to dance.
Solos
Solos are limited to 3 minutes. Music must be on individual CD’s. Solo judging is on impression. Students receive score and comments.
Top Teacher
Minimum entry requirements are for qualification purposes, minimum requirements does not guarantee placement. Teachers with the highest point totals meeting the minimum requirements will be determined the winners. Only one winner per place.

5th place – 4 points 6th place – 3 points 7th place – 2 points 8th place – 1 points
3 points for each call back
Multi 3, 4 and 5 dance entries:
1st place – 20 points 2nd place – 15 points 3rd place – 10 points 4th place – 8 points
5th place – 6 points 6th place – 4 points 7th place – 2 points 8th place – 2 points
5 points for each call back
*If a placement is in an uncontested division, the points remain the same.
*Proficiency Entries – 1 Full Point per entry.
PRE-TEENS, JUNIORS AND YOUNG ADULTS
Pro/Am who pay a reduced fee will receive 1/2 the points as described above.
Top Student
Trophies will be presented to the Top Male & Top Female Pro/Am Students in Bronze, Silver and Gold Levels.

Videos
This event may be photographed by video, photography, or other method. All persons attending this event may be photographed and, by their presence, waive any claim related to the use of that photography and the rights of any copyright, privacy or publicity associated with said photography. The Constitution State Dancesport Championships and its organizers reserve all print, electronic and broadcast rights and reserve the right to use any and all photography taken at the Constitution State Dancesport Championships for future promotional purposes.
No personal video cameras will be allowed. Professionally produced videos and photographs will be available.
Waiver
Cancellation/Refund Policy
Cancellation must be made in writing. Cancellations received prior to September 5, 2016 will receive a refund by mail no later than 30 days after completion of the event minus a $50 service charge. No refunds will be issued for package and/or entry cancellations received after September 5, 2016. Credit or partial credit toward entry fees for the following year, may be considered at the sole discretion of the organizers in cases of emergency only when notified prior to the start of the competition and when accompanied by a physician’s certificate. Canceled entries taken at the event cannot be substituted by another entry and no refund will be made on such a cancellation.
There are no refunds or exchanges on general admission tickets.
